Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

Pimou is published by Romain Sion, an independent developer. For any question about this policy or your data, write to simka.dev@gmail.com.

2. The data you enter in the app

Pimou lets you record, at your own initiative, information about your child:

• the profile: first name, birth date and, where relevant, the due date;
• the care journal: breastfeeds, bottles, meals, diapers, sleep and related notes;
• measurements: weight, height, head circumference, temperature;
• medicines given, teeth and developmental milestones you check off;
• the photos and memories you choose to add;
• caregiving instructions and the name of the parent or caregiver who logs entries.

This data is never transmitted to the app’s publisher. It remains under your exclusive control.

3. Where your data is stored

On your device

By default, the entire journal is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad, protected by iOS’s built-in security. Home Screen widgets read this data directly on the device, without going through the Internet.

On your iCloud account, if you turn on family sharing

Family sharing is optional and only activates through an explicit action on your part. In that case, the journal syncs through CloudKit, Apple’s service, in the private database of your iCloud account. Invitations use Apple’s native interface, private access only: only the people you invite can view and edit the journal. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Pimou’s publisher has access neither to your iCloud account nor to the contents of your journal. Apple’s handling of this data is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

You can remove a participant, leave the share, or unlink a device at any time from “Parents & sharing” in the app.

4. Photos

Pimou uses the iOS photo picker: the app only accesses the images you select one by one, never your whole photo library. Photos added to the journal are stored with it (on the device and, if family sharing is on, on your iCloud).

5. Notifications

Reminders (sleep, routines) are scheduled locally on your device. When family sharing is on, silent push notifications are used solely to trigger synchronization: they contain neither your child’s name nor the content of any care entry.

6. Pimou Premium subscription

Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never have access to your payment details.

To verify subscription entitlements, Pimou relies on RevenueCat. RevenueCat only receives a random family-journal identifier (which cannot identify you personally) and the transaction information provided by Apple. Neither your name, nor your email address, nor any data from your baby’s journal is ever sent to it.

7. What Pimou does not do

• No advertising, no ad trackers.
• No analytics or behavior measurement of any kind.
• No selling or sharing of data for commercial purposes.
• No account creation, no email collection.
• No profiling and no automated decision-making about you.

8. Data about your child

Information about your child is entered by you, the parent or legal guardian, and remains under your control. Pimou is intended for adults caring for a child; it is not designed to be used by children and does not collect any data directly from them.

9. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability. Since your data stays with you, you exercise them directly in the app:

• Access and portability: a CSV export of the journal and measurements is available in Settings.
• Rectification: every journal entry can be edited or deleted.
• Erasure: Settings let you delete all local data; the iCloud journal can be deleted from “Parents & sharing” or from your device’s iCloud settings.

10. Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as you keep the app and your journal. Deleting the app erases local data; any iCloud data can be deleted from within the app or from your iCloud settings.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its update date. In case of a substantial change in how data is handled, the app will let you know.
